In Loving Memory of Dr. Deborah Meesig, MD
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Dr. Deborah Meesig, the beloved wife of our CEO, Dr. Robert Falcone. Deborah departed from this world on July 6, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and warmth that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Deborah Meesig was born on July 11 in 1954. She was a woman of remarkable grace and dignity, whose dedication to her family and community was unparalleled. Her gentle spirit and unwavering support were a constant source of strength for her loved ones.
Throughout her life, Deborah Meesig was deeply involved in the healthcare system. After putting herself through medical school, Deborah went on to become the first woman to complete a General Surgical residency at The Ohio State University. She was also the first woman to complete a Colorectal Fellowship in the United States. After developing a successful surgical practice, she attended law school at Capital University, making her a woman of many talents. Deborah held several titles throughout her life, including Vice President of Medical Affairs at Grant hospital and Chief of Staff at Chillicothe VA Medical Center, and Senior Executive with the Regional VA health Care Office. All these roles are a testament to her selflessness and generosity.
Outside of medicine and law, Deborah had a passion for fashion that started at an incredibly early age. In her small town, Deborah completed an apprenticeship with an experienced fashion designer who only strengthened her love for fashion. She became a self-taught designer who went on to craft her own clothing.
Deborah Meesig is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Robert Falcone, and their children Zach (Christina) and Melissan (Christopher). She will also be fondly remembered by her extended family and many friends who were blessed to know her. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Dr. Falcone and his family during this challenging time. Deborah’s memory will forever remain in our hearts, and her spirit will continue to inspire us.
Per Deborah’s wishes, there will be no funeral or burial service. Instead, there will be a celebration of life ceremony to honor her legacy (Date and time to be announced later). The family has asked that you do not send letters, gifts, or flowers. Instead, they would be grateful for your donations to the Deborah Meesig Endowed Scholarship fund, which will benefit aspiring fashion design students at the Columbus College of Art and Design. Please donate here.
We join in celebrating the remarkable woman Deborah Meesig was and the legacy of love and kindness she leaves behind.
