CMA Updates Practice Manager Offerings
On Friday June 7th, 2019, the newly formed Practice Manager’s Taskforce met to discuss ways the Columbus Medical Association (CMA) can improve and enhance their educational and event offerings. The six local practice managers, affectionately known as the “6-pack,” come from various medical offices and are active in the quarterly CMA Practice Manager luncheons.
The group first focused on the need for a Practice Manager website centered on resources and functionality. Having a website that connects Practice Managers around themes and common issues as well as downloadable resources like an HR/Forms toolkit or vendor lists were just some of the taskforce’s wishes.
Next, they turned their attentions to the educational sessions the CMA provides in the form of quarterly luncheons. These luncheons bring together Practice Managers across Columbus and in addition to a yummy lunch, a guest speaker presents a particular topic relevant to Practice Managers. The taskforce stated that it would be beneficial to have some information about the topic that will be covered before the luncheon and others said they’d enjoy a series of luncheons on one topic or theme for more in-depth learning.
Lastly, the need for a bench-marking survey was brought up. It would include salary, sign-on bonus, and other relevant medical practice employee benefits so local Practice Managers can stay competitive and know what to offer when hiring new staff.
Practice Managers are essential to physicians and their needs, which is why the CMA is so dedicated to better serving them. Make sure you or a practice manager you know doesn’t miss out on these opportunities by sending your name, practice name and email to Cassandra Foster.
